Guest Post – Just Jess

Hello All,

so I am giving the spotlight today to a Lovely Lady called Jess, she has a fantastic little blog and hope you enjoy her post.

Hi, I’m Jess, and I blog over at Just Jess about a little bit of everything from beauty to cooking and from mental health to living on a budget. Clarissa has very kindly given over her blog to me for today to share my top three summer eye makeup looks!

Golden Shimmer

Firstly, a shimmery eye is perfect for daytime in the summer, brightening up your face in a work-friendly manner without being overwhelming or too out-there. I love Urban Decay’s Naked2 palette for this and use ‘Half Baked’ all over the lid, with ‘Verve’ on the inner third and a dab of ‘Chopper’ in the outer third. If you don’t have the pennies to spare for the Urban Decay palette, MUA’s Undress Me Too palette is meant to be a great dupe! Eye primer is a must, especially in the summer months, to stop your shadow slipping and sliding and hold it in place all day long.

Colour Pop

I’m a massive fan of bright colour on the eyes, and thankfully this is a major trend this summer – I love to use a bright green or blue to line my eyes, along with tonnes of mascara. This is a great look for a weekend barbeque or trip to the beach. I’ve created it here using an eyeliner brush to apply a thick line of Shade 1 from MUA’s Immaculate Collection palette along my upper lashline, before dabbing gently under my lower lashes. Remember, powder shadows often make a bigger impact when applied with a damp brush!

Bright & Smokey

Finally, and I think this is my favourite look for something a little more dramatic like a casual evening out, I love a brightly coloured smokey eye. Again, I created this look using shades from the MUA Immaculate Collection, with the lightest blue shade on the inner corner, a slightly deeper shade on the middle of my lid, a darker blue on the outer corner and in the crease, and a deep navy on the very outer edge of my lid. Blended, this makes for a lovely soft, pretty look which can flatter any eye colour depending on the shades you choose!

I hope you like the looks I’ve put together, which is your favourite? How do you like to make up your eyes in the summer months?

New beginnings

Hi guys and Girls
ok so it has hit me, I have opened up about my Issue with Food, I don’t like to eat !
I know your all sitting there going What the Hell is she mad !
but seriously me and food never have had a good relationship, started pretty much as you guessed it in my teens…
vending machines, school dinners; junk food; chocolate bars.. the list is endless but here is where it all started basically only options available was all stated if we did, chips and burgers junk junk junk..
I would walk loads as a teen and made sure I exercised loads, think when I started my relationship with my Mr, and contraceptives just didn’t agree with my body, Depo injection was the worst for me Made me gain TONS of weight and wasn’t happy at all.
now things are different Ive had Lady bug I gained alot of weight, joined Weight Watchers and was so close infact 7lbs away from Goal, and was treated to an all inclusive family holiday in Turkey .
mmm well needless to say when I returned I had gained a fair bit, I felt ashamed and vowed before I go back to drop that weight, also I felt accused of things, being a helper in the group; so I went on a course to gain more confidence in my maths skills, plus side I can add ect so much better now.
but after having alot of emotional things happen I ended up gaining weight more so then I did previously and I have been hating my reflection in the mirror, stopped making an effort even my underwear dont match and have holes for how much I give a damn about myself currently.
so I have decided after asking a few friends and seeing results myself of these people I have decided to take the plunge and try Slimming world.
this is a totally new concept for me all I know is points and pro points.. but change is good right ?
well I hope so, my friend Nicki she did amazingly well within a year she lost 6 stone ! flabbergasped at the amazing achievement and how great she must feel and inspired me to actually not sit back and accept how I look now,
I think as I hit my 30’s I kind of felt down about that age where my life is now, how i envisaged how my life would be right now.. not what I would of thought at all.
but were all given cross roads and  signs to follow and I suppose today is a decision maker.
think if I start this Mr will also join in which will make him feel a little more better about how he feels.
seeing his friends have also done Slimming world and dropped a fair amount not only is it healthier it will give a better outlook on life.
may have to look into changing my wardrobe style, I have been thinking of when I grow up and live in a mansion how I would like my walk in wardrobe haha
doesn’t every girl .
besides that I want to walk in and have nice colourful co-ordinated hangers that looks more appealing to the eye and colour codded to what the items for, be it work based, night life, dress up evening, casual or girl lunches. weddings or other special occassions
try to do a capsule wardrobe Dreams aye hehe .
what about you ? would you like to comment ?

My Experience:
I’ve used this razor twice to first was the Gillette Venus Breeze, found the experience nice and long-ish lasting, I liked the idea of not having to use shave cream/gel although after trying this I realised how many hairs I had missed… oops the reason for needing the shaving gel or cream is relevant haha.
steps used
  1. wet legs ( under shower/bath)
  2. Then run the shaving head up toward the knee, must always do in the opposite way to hair growth.
  3. Continue till all hair in areas are removed
  4. shower off the residue
  5. pat area dry
  6. moisturise

for better longer, lasting hair-free legs exfoliate two times per week helps weaken the hair growth

The aroma was very nice and refreshing smell like flowers.
Results(Depending on what purpose you had for this product include your results, in other words, how did it work? Did it do it’s job?)
What can I say about this product, the first few times of using was nicely soft and worked well.
So I decided to upgrade to the spa and breeze supposed to work better then the breeze one alone.
Giving that they were £9.99 each, my impressions now are that my hair free time has not lasted long.
Although it’s a bit pricey,  I feel that it’s not worth it! Unfortunately, I’m going to try the men’s version of Gillette
Final Thoughts:
Not trying again!

Have you tried it? What did you think? Would like to hear your thoughts?

After seeing the trailer I decided we would take ladybug to see this film..

I do have to say I love kiddo films it’s amazing how the graphics have changed from when I was a lil lady, the excellent real life extent that sucks you in to your inner kid..

Must add that this was a really good film very enjoyable and funny in parts.

A must watch !! Go take your children eat pop corn and laugh out loud also wipe a tear or two .. Loved it !

there is so much to this story that proves the good and evil, and showing the survival of the forest, nice learning edge for children in how forests grow, even if little people don’t exist it is still nice to look into your inner child and believe ..

Have you been to see this ?? let me know what you thought !
